Your exam includes:
(click each item for more information)
We take full digital X-rays using the highest quality digital X-ray technology available. Our digital X‑ray devices emit very low radiation, and the images are available within seconds and are much clearer than standard film X‑rays. We can magnify parts of the images as desired for a more detailed analysis.
We will take digital photos of your teeth, bite and smile.
We take a full set of intraoral and extraoral digital photographs of your teeth, bite and smile. Digital photos give us a clear record of the condition of your teeth and gums and show things that are not visible on X‑rays.
When needed, we will use our cone beam 3D CT scanner to get a complete 3D 360° view of your jawbone, teeth and surrounding structures. Our doctors use these images to make an accurate diagnosis without having to use invasive methods. From the data obtained, they can precisely plan your dental implant treatment, including any bone grafting that may be required.
Dr. Rapoport or Dr. Schuler will review your X-rays, photos, CT scans and medical and dental history. They will thoroughly consult you about your dental goals and concerns and will answer any questions you may have.
The doctors conduct a full oral exam which includes an oral cancer screening, a check of your bite and jaw joint function, a thorough assessment of the health of your teeth and the condition of your gums. They will also coordinate with your physician or general dentist as needed. From this exam and your diagnostic data, they will be able to tell you if you are a candidate for Same-Day Tooth Replacement
, All-on-4® New Teeth in One Day
or an alternative solution involving implant-supported replacement teeth.
The doctor will thoroughly educate you on his findings and will explain your treatment options in detail, giving the pros, cons and costs of each.
