Minimally Invasive State-of-the-Art Treatment
For your All-on-4® treatment, Dr. Rapoport and Dr. Schuler follow an exact sequence of advanced diagnostics, thorough planning and meticulous execution to ensure your procedure is precise, minimally invasive and comfortable.
Exam and Diagnostics
The first step is a complete oral exam which includes comprehensive diagnostics. Your doctor will take complete digital X-rays and a 3D CT scan of your jaw, teeth, and surrounding anatomy. He will review your medical and dental history and discuss your dental goals with you.
From the images and exam results, the doctor will be able to determine if you are a candidate for All-on-4 dental implants, and he will lay out an exact, detailed treatment plan for you. He will also determine your other treatment options as necessary.
Your treatment options
Your doctor will discuss your treatment options and answer all of your questions. He will work with you to determine the treatment that is best for you, which in some instances might be a different implant option than All-on-4.
Computer-Guided Planning
The doctor takes the images from the 3D CT scanner and loads them into special implant planning software. He uses these 3D views to find the areas in your jaw with the most voluminous and dense bone. These are the areas which will best support your implants and new teeth. Using this information, he plans out exactly where to place your implants, and at which angles.
Surgical Guides for Precise Placement
Using the same images and software, the doctor creates a surgical guide that is placed over the gums to guide the implants into their exact positions. This precision planning eliminates the necessity for additional incisions in most cases, making the procedure efficient and minimally invasive.
Preparing for Your All-on-4 Procedure
You will come in for one or two appointments prior to surgery day. During these, you will meet with the team that will be involved in your procedure. This will include your doctor who will perform the surgery and your anesthesiologist who will expertly administer your anesthesia.
We will take impressions and other measurements to design your new teeth and will discuss with you your goals for your new smile. Your anesthesiologist will discuss your anesthesia with you and answer any questions you may have. We will make sure you fully understand the procedure and what to expect at each step.
Implant Placement and New Teeth on the Same Day
Our doctors schedule only one patient per day for an All-on-4 procedure so they can give you their undivided attention.
Your implant placement doctor will extract any teeth as necessary and place your implants. Your anesthesiologist will provide your anesthesia during the procedure. We will mount your new temporary teeth after all implants have been placed. The entire procedure for both arches is completed by late afternoon, so you can get home and relax that evening.
Highest technical standards maintained
Dr. Rapoport and Dr. Schuler consider it vital that a separate anesthesiologist administers and monitors your sedation during the procedure while the implant placement doctor performs your surgery. This way, the doctor can focus completely on the needed precision for your procedure while the anesthesiologist devotes his full attention to ensuring that you are comfortable and that all anesthesia protocols are precisely followed.
This guarantees the highest technical standards and safety, as the doctor’s attention is not split trying to do two vital functions at the same time.
You get a call that evening
Your doctor will call you that evening to check up on you after you have returned home, answer any questions and give any additional instructions you may need to ensure your postoperative comfort.
Post-Treatment Care and Follow-Up Visits
Your doctor will give you detailed instructions on what foods to eat when to take your prescribed analgesic medications and how to care for your new teeth while your implants are healing. He will check the healing of your implants in regular follow-up visits over the next several weeks to monitor your progress and make any adjustments to your routines as necessary.
Your Beautiful, Final New Teeth
Once your implants have fully healed, we will place your final new teeth. We will make your new teeth highly aesthetic and will ensure they fit perfectly for a natural and comfortable bite.
Your new full-arch set of teeth are made of high-quality, titanium-reinforced acrylic and are thus very strong. Because of this added strength, they are thinner and more refined than usual, providing a more natural look. For an extra fee, we can also provide all-porcelain teeth.
Night guard for extra protection
You will also get a night guard to wear over your new teeth at night. Wearing a night guard will prolong the life of your new teeth as it protects them from wear by clenching or grinding.
We give two sets of teeth with your All-on-4 treatment
Most offices only let you keep your final set of teeth; We give you your temporary teeth to hold onto after your final teeth are placed. This will provide you with functional, aesthetic teeth in the event your final new teeth ever need to be removed for repair or cleaning.
No-charge Check-up Appointments for 12 Months
Your doctor will provide 12 months of any needed follow-up at no extra charge, and annual check-up visits thereafter for a nominal fee.
